Through innovative design and close working relationships
with our customers, Duncan Electronics Division develops custom
packages to fit exactly where they are needed. Through performance
and fit into unique
spaces, Duncan has created higher standards of product excellence
as well as customer satisfaction.
The
advent of the microprocessor created a demand for economical
position sensors which could deliver longer operating life
in custom-designed packages to fit specialized applications. In
Duncan's 35 successful years, its custom-engineered and precision-manufactured
potentiometers have been meeting this demand in applications
as varied as agriculture and x-ray equipment.
Duncan's
thick film conductive plastic sensors stand up to heavy wear,
exposure to chemicals and high-temperature operating environments.
They are found on diesel engines for Caterpillar,in memory
seat sensors for General Motors and as internally mounted
sensors in hydraulic/pneumatic cylinders in Sweden.
Duncan's
line has grown to include small, low-cost modular kit and
light-duty enclosed shaft encoders which incorporate our proprietary
monolithic phased array opto IC (ASIC) technology. These devices
are ideal for high volume applications in computer peripherals,
motors, office and factory automation, medical instruments,
automotive and related markets. Duncan has combined potentiometric
and optical encoding technologies into unique sensing packages.
Typical applications include servo motors, disk and tape drives,
printers, plotters, medical equipment panel controls, instrumentation, robotics
and process controls.
